MOL Switching to 11-digit Booking Numbers, B/L Numbers for Container Service

TOKYO ― Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL, President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced plans to shift to 11-digit booking and bill of lading (B/L) numbers from the current 9-digit numbers. The move is aimed at enhancing the security of B/L transactions.

The change will take effect with bookings received on February 8, 2010, and thereafter.
